E-CLUB PROGRAM

PRESIDING TODAY IS: Bonnie Branciaroli, President

bellDing! We’re now in session.

Welcome all – visitors, fellow Rotarians and guests alike to this E-Club program!

Remember the Four-Way Test!

At the beginning of each meeting we remind ourselves of the The Four-Way Test.  Therefore, please remember to ask yourself always . . .

Of the things we think, say or do:

  1. Is it the TRUTH?
  2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?
  3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
  4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

Reflective Moments

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”
     ― Margaret Mead

“The world as we have created it is a process of our thinking. It cannot be changed without changing our thinking.”
     ― Albert Einstein

“Those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything.”
     ― George Bernard Shaw

Light Moments

"Don’t sweat the petty things, and don’t pet the sweaty things.”
     – George Carlin

“Long time ago I used to have a life, until someone told me to create a Facebook account.”
     – Anonymous

“Creative minds are rarely tidy.”
     – Pinterest

Leadership Quotes

“If Rotary were a ship approaching land, our new vision statement would be the lighthouse that keeps us from running aground. Our vision statement explains what we want to achieve, in the same way that our mission statement explains our focus, and our strategic plan represents how we are going to get there.”
     – Stephanie A. Urchick, 2018 RI Chair Strategic Planning Committee;
        2019-2021 RI Board of Directors

“Together, we will harness the power of connection just as our organization [Rotary] has been doing for more than 114 years. We will continue to thrive because we are not afraid of change.”
     – Mark Daniel Maloney, RI President 2019-2020

“The goal of a true leader should always be getting everyone around you to achieve the most they can possibly achieve.”
     – Mark Daniel Maloney, RI President 2019-2020

Welcome To A New Rotary Year

July 1 marked the beginning of a new Rotary year. Our 2019-2020 year of Rotary begins with a new International president and Board of Directors, a new Presidential theme, and a new West Virginia District with our very first D7545 Governor and leadership team.

At the club level, new leadership is looking forward to the sharing of ideas, connecting those ideas to new projects that exemplify our Rotary motto “Service Above Self.” New projects and thriving projects already instituted are the fuel that fires us up, as “People of Action”, to tell our Rotary story.

Rotarians worldwide and within District 7545 recently received a letter from the 2019-2020 Rotary International President, Mark Daniel Maloney outlining his theme and goals for the Rotary year.

The RI Presidential theme for 2019-20, “Rotary Connects the World”, asks Rotarians to strengthen the many ways that Rotary Connects the World, building the connections that allow talented, thoughtful, and generous people to unite and take meaningful action through Rotary service.

Succinctly, the 2019-2020 RI goals are:
1. Increase our Impact
2. Expand our Reach
3. Enhance participant Engagement
4. Increase our ability to Adapt

Rotary International is comprised of 34 Zones worldwide. Our new District 7545 is located in Zone 33. The Zone 33 Regional Training Seminar was recently held in Greensboro, North Carolina, and the new RI Board of Director representing our Zone was present.
Stephanie A. Urchick, a member of the Rotary Club of McMurray, PA McMurray, PA and chair of Rotary’s Strategic Planning Committee in 2018, introduced RI’s new vision statement:

“Together, we see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change
— across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves.”

As the following photo implies, this vision statement can be broken down to its simplest Rotarian plan of action:

“TOGETHER PEOPLE CREATE CHANGE”

Urchick is one of two women on the 2019-2021 Board of Directors. At the recent 2019 RI Convention in Hamburg, Germany, the crowd of nearly 15,000 in the afternoon General Session enthusiastically cheered and clapped when the two women were introduced.

District 7545

On the District level, July 1 marked the beginning of a brand new district in West Virginia. District 7545, a consolidation of former West Virginia Rotary Districts 7530 (northern West Virginia) and 7550 (southern West Virginia), now encompasses 55 clubs and represents over 2,000 Rotarians in West Virginia.

Shari Messinger of the Rotary Club of Barboursville will serve as the first District Governor of the new D7545. Inducted on June 20, she has been busy putting her new District leadership together and all hands are on deck as of July 1.

For other District information check out the new website:

Finally, July 1 marked the beginning of a new year of service for the Mountain State Rotary E-Club and we are looking forward to new connections and new ideas.
