I wanted to take time this week to share a film my company recently completed for Glenville State College and their Hidden Promise Scholarship program. The film was submitted to the White House as part of a peer mentoring initiative sponsored by the First Lady.  For me, the story told by students at GSC proved to be inspiring and reassuring that even with all the changes in the world, we still have much to be proud of in today’s young people and to the importance to taking time for others. I hope you enjoy the piece and please feel free to share with others.

This Week’s Meeting

Week beginning April 27, 2015

Presiding today is Jeffrey Tinnell, Treasurer

rotary-bellDing! We’re now in session.

Welcome all – Visitors, fellow Rotarians and guests alike to the E-Club meeting for the week of April 27, 2015.

Remember the smiling pot. Donations to our E-Club help support our service projects.

We’d like to respectfully remind all visitors that if they would like to contribute the normal cost of a meal for your makeup, we would be grateful. These funds go directly to our many and varied service projects around the world. You can make a contribution in the Donation box on your left. Or you can write a check to:  Rotary E-Club of District 7530 and mail it to Treasurer MSRE, 115 Hoffman Avenue, Morgantown, WV 26505.

Four-Way Test

At the beginning of each meeting we remind ourselves of the The Four-Way Test.  Therefore, please remember to ask yourself always . . .

Of the things we think, say or do:

  1. Is it the TRUTH?
  2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?
  3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
  4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

A Reflective Moment

“The purpose of human life is to serve, and to show compassion and the will to help others.”  – Albert Schweitzer

A Light Moment

I enjoyed Brett’s efforts and thought I would continue:

  1. One-fourth of the world’s population lives on less than $200 a year.  Ninety million people survive on less than $75 a year.
  1. Butterflies taste with their hind feet.
  1. Only female mosquito’s’ bite and most are attracted to the color blue twice as much as to any other color.
  1. If one places a tiny amount of liquor on a scorpion, it will instantly go mad and sting itself to death.
  1. It is illegal to hunt camels in the state of Arizona.
