E-CLUB PROGRAM

PRESIDING TODAY IS: Jeffrey Tinnell

bellDing! We’re now in session.

Welcome all – visitors, fellow Rotarians and guests alike to this E-Club program!

Remember the Four-Way Test!

At the beginning of each meeting we remind ourselves of the The Four-Way Test.  Therefore, please remember to ask yourself always . . .

Of the things we think, say or do:

  1. Is it the TRUTH?
  2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?
  3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
  4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

A Reflective Moment

A Light Moment

Failed Slogans for a Volunteer Program

  • Altruism is not a disease.
  • Volunteer, cause you'd like your resume to be at least a page.
  • Volunteers are good ... for nothing!

Warmest wishes to our E-Club members for a happy Thanksgiving!

Our E-Club Meeting:

Gratitude & Our Rotary Foundation

"Vision to see, faith to believe, and courage to act...."

During this season of reflection and gratitude, it seems appropriate to remember the many ways Rotary International helps others around the world achieve the kinds of basic health, education and welfare that we are blessed to be able to take for granted.  One of the key components of Rotary International in this work is the Rotary Foundation.

Over the course of the Foundation’s 100-year existence, more than $3 billion dollars have been raised and spent to finance a variety of life changing programs. Rotary’s six focus areas of humanitarian support include the following:

  •   Promoting Peace,
  •   Providing Clean Water,
  •   Saving Mothers and Children,
  •   Supporting Education,
  •   Growing Local Economies, and
  •   Fighting Disease.

With more than 35,000 Rotary clubs worldwide, together we can and do make a difference!

Last year Rotary grants provided $27 million dollars toward disease prevention and treatment alone. Much of this is focused on the End Polio Now program. Rotary works in conjunction with The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in this important service area. In fact, for every dollar Rotary commits to polio eradication, The Gates Foundation matches it. This can have a true impact on seeing this horrible disease, which especially affects children, completely disappear.

I believe it is important for our E-Club to make a concerted effort to support the Foundation in a meaningful way. For this reason, I am asking each member to reflect on his or her own health and blessings this Thanksgiving season and make a $10.00 contribution to the Foundation through our home page Donate/Give button. This will allow our E-Club to make a meaningful impact in the international community, while we continue to support efforts closer to home, such as the current book donation drive and Imagination Library support.

The short (4-minute) video below illustrates the "vision to see":

Please also take a few minutes now to further research our Rotary Foundation at https://www.rotary.org/en/about-rotary/rotary-foundation and the good it does around the world.  It will make you even more aware of and grateful for the efforts of Rotarians, past and present.

Thank you for participating in this week's meeting and for the difference you make in others' lives each day, and please leave a comment to let us know of your "attendance."

If you are a visitor and would like to contribute the normal cost of a meal for your makeup, we would be grateful. These funds go directly to our service projects. You can make a contribution through the Give/Donate link on the homepage. Or you can write a check to:  Rotary E-Club of District 7530 and mail it to Treasurer MSRE, 115 Hoffman Avenue, Morgantown, WV 26505.
